*Google ratings and review counts as shown in a Google Maps search for “double glazing wolverhampton” on 21 October 2026. “Trading since” is the year the company was incorporated at Companies House, unless marked “says” or “stated”, meaning the firm’s own claim. Local vs national: what changes when you choose a Wolverhampton firm

Anglian Home Improvements is a trading name of ASHI Group Limited, company 02540020, based in Norwich (Companies House 02540020), which also trades as Everest and Safestyle.

  • Who you deal with. Anglian offers a designer appointment, at home or remotely (Anglian’s website, October 2026). A local firm like ours puts you with the owners throughout.
  • Seeing the product first. Anglian’s nearest listed showroom is a garden centre in Shirley, Solihull. Leamore, Tettenhall, DW, EnergySeal, Belle View and our own Willenhall showroom are all nearer.
  • Local knowledge. The city has 31 conservation areas, 13 with extra Article 4 rules on altering a house front (see below). A local firm knows which apply to your road.
  • Aftercare. A local firm answers its own phone rather than routing you through a national customer service line.
  • A genuine extra quote. Two national brands under one owner isn’t much of a comparison; an independent gives you a separate price and standard.

Anglian (October 2026)
Owner ASHI Group Ltd, Norwich; also trades as Everest and Safestyle
How you get a price Designer appointment, at home or remotely; no published prices for windows, doors or conservatories (Anglian’s website, October 2026)
Published guide prices None for windows and doors; “from” prices shown for garage doors only

Finance 11.9% APR representative; deposits from £249 (Anglian’s website, October 2026)
Trustpilot 3.9 out of 5 from 40,825 reviews, 21 Oct 2026 (Trustpilot)

Strengths: 60 years trading, timber windows alongside uPVC and aluminium, and the highest Trustpilot score of the three ASHI brands (3.9, against 3.2 for Safestyle and 2.6 for Everest, 22 Oct 2026).

What to check: Anglian’s “4 to 8 weeks” installation estimate only applies to 21 postal areas in the south of England; WV isn’t one of them (Anglian’s terms and conditions, October 2026), and Trustpilot’s own summary lists long customer service waits and missed appointments as common complaints.

How we chose the Wolverhampton alternatives

Every firm here was checked on 21 October 2026 for an active trading record, coverage of Wolverhampton, full window and door installs rather than glass-only or repair-only work, and public reviews we could read in full. We’ve also noted which firms have a showroom, based on their own websites; we didn’t check the FENSA or CERTASS registers, so accreditations are the firms’ own claims. Ratings move every week, so recheck them before you book anyone, including us.

The 10+ best Anglian alternatives in Wolverhampton

1. Wednesfield Trade Windows & Doors (Willenhall): best for a showroom where the owners serve you

Anglian’s nearest showroom is staffed by its sales team in a Solihull garden centre. Ours is on Neachells Lane, Willenhall (WV13 3RG), run by the family who own the business, set up in 2012 with over 25 years in the trade (our homepage, October 2026), registered at Companies House 07977014. Bring the dog.

Wednesfield Trade Windows & Doors
Google rating 4.7 from 61 reviews (Google Maps, 21 Oct 2026)
On display uPVC and aluminium windows, composite doors, bifolds
Who you talk to The owners
Fitted by Our own team
Accreditation CERTASS certified installer
Guarantee 10 years on every install
Glass A-rated as standard; Pilkington Suncool solar control glass available

Open and close the actual aluminium bifold doors we fit, and see our uPVC windows next to the slimmer aluminium windows, with no sales appointment. Our composite doors are on display too, and you can design yours at home first in our designer. Anglian builds conservatories in seven styles; for one of those, see Leamore or Tettenhall below. If an existing conservatory is too cold, we fit warm roof conversions, and for extensions we fit lantern roofs. We have no Trustpilot profile, so Google is where our reviews live.

2. Leamore Windows (Bloxwich): best for a large two-floor showroom

Leamore’s showroom spans two floors with full-size conservatories and more than 50 windows and doors on display, and it has made its own uPVC frames and sealed units since the mid-1980s (Leamore’s website, October 2026). The company dates from 1983 (Companies House 01706961), with 4.7 on Google from 470 and 4.6 on Trustpilot from 69 (Trustpilot).

Good to know: it’s based in Walsall, though Wolverhampton is on its areas list, and gives guarantee lengths for some products but not one overall figure.

3. Tettenhall Windows & Conservatories (WV6): best for conservatory and extension ideas

Tettenhall has refurbished its Aldersley Road showroom and is the most-reviewed independent we found, 4.9 from 585 on Google. The company was incorporated in 2001 (Companies House 04155356), and it says it was established in 1994; conservatories, orangeries, extensions and warm roofs sit alongside windows and bifolds.

Good to know: book ahead rather than turning up. We couldn’t find a stated guarantee length or accreditation.

4. DW Windows (Coseley): best for heritage window choice

DW’s head office and showroom are on Meadow Lane, Coseley, after it closed its Sedgley and Stafford Road showrooms during 2023 and 2024 (DW’s website, October 2026). Incorporated in 2006 (Companies House 05867859), it offers heritage styles including sliding sash and Deceuninck Heritage, with 4.8 on Trustpilot from 1,544 reviews (Trustpilot) and 4.6 on Google from 264.

Good to know: Coseley is now its only showroom.

5. EnergySeal Windows and Doors (Cannock Road): best showroom for north Wolverhampton

EnergySeal’s showroom on Cannock Road, WV10, suits Bushbury, Fordhouses and Wednesfield. It scores 4.9 on Google from 103 reviews, fits REHAU uPVC and aluminium, converts conservatories to tiled roofs, and gives a 10-year warranty (EnergySeal’s website, October 2026).

Good to know: the current company was incorporated in 2022 (Companies House 14500385).

6. Belle View Windows & Doors (Park Village): best for seeing a local maker’s own range

Belle View says it makes its own windows, doors and glass at its factory and invites customers to its Wolverhampton showroom. It says it was founded in 1983 and is still run by its founder, with its Deceuninck Heritage windows in 26 colour combinations. It holds 4.7 on Google from 34 reviews and says its installations are CERTASS approved.

Good to know: its own terms give a 10-year guarantee on uPVC frames, 5 years on installation and sealed units, and 12 months on hardware (Belle View’s website, October 2026); ask for the trading company’s name.

7. Ashmore Glass & Mirrors (Essington): best for trade-quality glass

Ashmore makes its products in Wolverhampton and supplies the trade as well as homeowners. Incorporated in 1997 (Companies House 03395941), it scores 4.8 on Google from 70 reviews and says it is FENSA registered.

Good to know: its showroom was “temporarily closed” when we looked, so phone before you go.

8. Castle Windows (Midlands), Bloxwich: best for independently checked reviews

Castle is an endorsed Which? Trusted Trader with 5.0 from 307 reviews (Which?), plus 4.9 on Google from 60. Incorporated in 2010 (Companies House 07251735), it names Wolverhampton among its areas and fits conservatories and warm roofs too.

Good to know: we couldn’t confirm a showroom you can visit.

9. Universal Trade Windows (Ettingshall): best for uPVC replacements

Universal works from Spring Road in WV4 with 4.6 on Google from 479 reviews. Incorporated in 2016 (Companies House 10371088), it’s FENSA registered with a 10-year guarantee, covering uPVC and sash windows, composite and patio doors.

Good to know: no showroom is mentioned, so expect samples at home.

10. WSL Windows (Blackhalve Lane): best when the roof needs work too

WSL combines new windows with roofline, conservatory roofs and EPDM flat roofs in one job (WSL’s website, October 2026). Incorporated in 2019 (Companies House 11861825), it scores 4.5 on Google from 71 and says its 10-year warranty includes hardware.

Good to know: we couldn’t confirm a showroom, so expect samples at home.

11. Bloxwich Windows (Bloxwich): best for small jobs and repairs

Bloxwich Windows has a perfect 5.0 on Google from 251 reviews. Incorporated in 2005 (Companies House 05389127), it says it is CERTASS registered with insurance-backed cover from QANW, and handles misted glass, locks and hinges as well as new windows and doors.

Good to know: its website mentions “the West Midlands” but not Wolverhampton by name, so confirm it covers your road.

What bigger projects cost in 2026 (UK cost guides)

Anglian doesn’t publish window or door prices, so here’s what the national cost guides say. Treat these as ranges, not quotes.

Project MyJobQuote Checkatrade
Replacement windows, 3-bed home £4,000 to £6,000, uPVC in a 3-bed semi, 6 to 10 windows (MyJobQuote, Jul 2026) £8,000 to £15,000, double glazing in a 3-bed house, 8 to 12 windows (Checkatrade, May 2026)
Aluminium windows, 3-bed semi £7,000 to £10,000 (same source) Not compared
Aluminium bifold doors £3,150 to £7,200 (MyJobQuote, Sept 2026) £3,000 to £7,500, confirm whether VAT inclusive (Checkatrade, Jul 2026)
Composite front door £550 to £2,350 (MyJobQuote, Sept 2026) Not compared

Get itemised quotes rather than relying on one figure; MyJobQuote lists common extras as scaffolding (£300 to £800 per elevation), skip hire (£200 to £350), making good (£50 to £100 a window) and structural repairs once frames are out (£200 to £500 a window) (MyJobQuote, Jul 2026).

What Wolverhampton homes need

  • Conservation areas, with extra rules in 13 of them. The council lists 31 conservation areas, 13 with Article 4 Directions, including Tettenhall Greens, Tettenhall Wood, Park, Penn Fields, Bilston Town Centre and the city centre (City of Wolverhampton Council). Homes there have fewer permitted development rights, fewer still under an Article 4 Direction; in Bilston Town Centre, owners of named houses need planning permission to alter a front facing the highway (Bilston Town Centre appraisal). If you need timber windows to match a period house, Anglian is one of the few firms here that offers them; check with the council first either way.
  • An interwar city. 26.0% of Wolverhampton’s 114,190 homes were built between 1919 and 1939, against about 14.8% across England (VOA Council Tax stock of properties 2025, table CTSOP4.1). Ask how each firm prices bay windows.
  • Room to improve on energy. Only 46.67% of homes with a valid EPC are rated band C or above, below the England figure of 53.28% (ONS, 2025).

Five checks before you sign with anyone

  1. Know the legal minimum. Replacement windows in England need a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better, or a Window Energy Rating of band B, under Approved Document L, Table 4.2 (GOV.UK).
  2. Expect a certificate. FENSA, CERTASS and other competent person scheme members self-certify and must send a certificate within 8 weeks (GOV.UK).
  3. Understand cancellation. Off-premises (at-home) contracts carry a 14-day cancellation period (legislation.gov.uk), but Which? notes there’s no statutory right to cancel for made-to-measure goods (Which?); get the firm’s own terms in writing.
  4. Ask who protects your deposit. In May 2020 the GGF warned several insurers had suspended or withdrawn deposit cover (GGF); get the insurer’s name, and pay part by credit card for Section 75 cover (£100 to £30,000).
  5. Judge the price, not the discount. Which? warns about quotes that drop during the visit to get a signature on the day (Which?, Sept 2026).

Questions people ask about Anglian

Are local window companies cheaper than Anglian?

Anglian doesn’t publish prices, so there’s no like-for-like figure to quote. National cost guides put uPVC windows for a 3-bed semi at £4,000 to £6,000 (MyJobQuote) or £8,000 to £15,000 for a typical 3-bed house (Checkatrade). Get a written quote from a local firm alongside Anglian’s and compare like for like.

Do local firms offer insurance-backed guarantees?

Some do. DW Windows, Leamore Windows, EnergySeal, Bloxwich Windows and WSL Windows all state one or show a scheme logo on their own websites. Ask any installer, Anglian included, to confirm in writing who backs the guarantee.

Where is the nearest Anglian showroom to Wolverhampton?

Anglian’s website points customers to Notcutts Garden Centre, Shirley, Solihull B90 4EN (Anglian’s website, October 2026). Leamore, Tettenhall, DW, EnergySeal, Belle View and our own Willenhall showroom are all nearer.

Are Anglian, Everest and Safestyle the same company?

Yes. Each brand’s website says it is a trading name of ASHI Group Limited (Anglian’s, Everest’s and Safestyle’s websites, October 2026), company 02540020 at Companies House.
